who invented the idea that all the court cards have 10 points each ? 41 Cribbage restores the "original" points assigned logically for court cards. So, Jack=11, Queen=12 and King=13 points.
This move changes also our counting during the game. 31 points stays as it is, and scores 2 points.
But the next target is ... guest what ? yes, you are right ... 41 points. But this time player scores 4 points for reaching this target. There is no play beyond count of 41.
Nice ... it messes up our traditional thinking and planning during the game. But, this is the goal of any variant, to relax, to look out of the box on what we know and do everyday.
